Blogs. Facebook. Twitter. LinkedIn. If the explosion in social media has you feeling overwhelmed or left behind, you won't want to miss CWIP's October program! Journalist and blogger Christine Cupaiuolo will illustrate how you can navigate the social media maze and use it to advance your professional goals. She will demonstrate the major online tools and share examples of how individuals and organizations are utilizing them to build networks and market professional services. You'll come away with:

  • Best practices for using social media for your professional development.
  • Handouts for diving deeper into blogs and other social media, including suggestions for free tools and software.

A writer and editor with a decade of online media experience, Christine Cupaiuolo currently covers women's health and politics for Our Bodies Ourselves and writes for local and national publications.

Getting to CWIP Programs at our new home: Willis (formerly Sears) Tower

Strategically located at the hub of Chicago's vibrant financial district 233 South Wacker, Willis Tower is easy to reach - for commuters and for customers.

Chicago’s two major commuter rail stations, Northwestern and Union Stations, are both located in the West Loop, with entrances situated approximately one block west of the building’s Wacker Drive entrance.

Willis Tower is accessible by all forms of public transportation, including 24 CTA bus routes and the elevated/subway system. Access to the elevated transit system is located at Quincy and Wells Street, just one block from the building’s Franklin Street entrance. Willis Tower is also accessible by three major highways – Interstate 90/94 (the Kennedy and Dan Ryan Expressways) and Interstate 290 (the Eisenhower Expressway) – with available uncovered and covered parking in several nearby locations.

SPECIAL NOTE REGARDING CHECK-IN PROCEDURES FOR CWIP MEETINGS AT WILLIS TOWER

Please allow extra time for entering the building when attending a CWIP program! We are very excited about our new home but must abide by building rules. Upon entering Willis Tower, guests are required to check in with a state issued photo I.D. You can enter the building from either the Wacker or Franklin Street entrances. If you have pre-registered for the CWIP program, your name will be on a guest list with the front desk check-in staff. If you have not, that’s also Ok—you will be asked for your name and then your photo ID. After checking in at that location, you will be directed to the screening area where you will be asked to place any belongings on the scanner (as you do at the airport). You can then follow the signs to the elevators going to the 33rd floor. Upon exiting, you will see signs for the CWIP meeting in the conference center on that level. You will then follow check-in/registration with CWIP staff for that particular event.  We hope you enjoy our new "home" for the coming year!
